Songs For The Storytelling Aspect

Share a song that...

1. Reminds you of your husbando

"Heart-Shaped Box" β€” Nirvana

The sickness and sweetness mixed together, like admiration that hurts to hold.

2. Reminds you of yourself

"Pennyroyal Tea" β€” Nirvana

Exhaustion laced with clarity; tired of being seen through glass but still standing.

3. Reminds you of your relationship

"The World Is Ugly" β€” My Chemical Romance

Because even in ruin, there's tenderness.

4. Describes the first time you met

"Come As You Are" β€” Nirvana

An invitation that felt like fate, whispered under sterile lights.

5. Would play on your first date

"You Get Me So High" β€” The Neighbourhood

Not romantic, just dizzy β€” the air between us buzzing like static

6. A song that plays while you're cooking together

"Late Nights & Heartbreak" β€” Hannah Williams & The Affirmations

For the sound of utensils against the sink, the hum of regret of what he has done softened by routine.

7. Sounds like your movie night

"Subwoofer Lullaby" β€” C418

Gentle and pixel-cozy, like two people who don't need words anymore.

8. Makes you want to dance with him

"N.I.B." β€” Black Sabbath

That slow, dangerous groove, worship disguised as rhythm.

9. Sounds like your first night spent in the same bed

"Even Deeper" β€” Nine Inch Nails

The silence between breaths that says more than touch.

10. Would be his lullaby to you

"Rosemary" β€” Deftones

Heavy, endless, familiar β€” like he's guarding my dreams.

11. Would be your lullaby to him

"I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire" β€” The Ink Spots

It's the song my father used to play while wandering the wasteland in Fallout 3. I never realized it was a love song until he told me. It always sounded too sad, too final. Now, it feels like the kind of love that burns quietly, not to destroy, but to warm.
I'd play it softly in the background while I sing along, my voice half-hidden beneath the melody. He wouldn't mind. He'd hear the memory in it β€” the part of my childhood I never thought I’d share. And maybe, in that small moment, he’d finally get to feel what a childhood should’ve sounded like.

12. Plays at your wedding

"Love You to Death" β€” Type O Negative

Because devotion doesn’t always wear white.

Songs that are good for...

1. Mutual pining

"Cherry Waves" β€” Deftones

That suspended ache of being so close, but not crossing. The song feels like an ocean held between two hands.

2. Imagining your future together

"Rosemary" β€” Deftones

It sounds like the horizon stretching β€” soft, uncertain, and still promising something worth waking up for.

3. Saying what you wish you could tell him

"All Apologies" β€” Nirvana

Not regret β€” just the raw need to be understood without fixing what's already broken.

4. Remembering when you found your husbando

"Wet Hands" β€” C418

Nostalgic, and always brings fond memories.

5. Miscellaneous daydreaming

"Aria Math" β€” C418.

Time isn’t real here. It’s the gentle hum of devotion with no shape, no destination.

Kyrie and Kyrie II by Yoshihisa Hirano

I really love these OSTs from the Death Note anime. That dark, eery singing fits really well with the Shie Hassaikai arc, especially once the heroes discover Kai's plans. It also fits with the downfall of the Yakuza as well as well as with the scene Chisaki's arms get taken away and realizes that he cannot bring the Boss back from his coma.
